The trip to Austria
From 24.10.2019 to 27.10.2019 Sonja Prinz and Hoda Abdallah were in Austria on behalf of Our Network e.V. to visit Banza Tombe, chairwoman of the association Global New Generation Austria. The first meeting was a needs assessment meeting. At this meeting the team looked at where the association still needed support and what materials were missing. The day after there was a general meeting in Café Westend. The board of directors was newly elected, Mrs. Banza Tombe remains chairwoman, the referee is Prisca G. Temporarily Mrs. Abdallah was elected as treasurer, so that she can accompany the association from Berlin in the accounting until an Austrian has settled in. Afterwards there was another meeting for a possible cooperation, in the only bookstore for African literature “Afrieurotext” in Vienna. There they met Simon Inou, publisher of “Fresh Black Austrian Lifestyle”. A cooperation between both associations was agreed upon. Afterwards they went to an Ethiopian restaurant, where the cooperation was sealed and in an informative discussion the political situation for NGOs but also for people with migration history in both countries was compared. The next day the team visited the city and left again. More Photos on our FlickR
