Report of the trip to Paris https://ournetwork.one/archives/1174 Fri, 24 Jan 2020 12:34:43 +0000 https://ournetwork.one/?p=1174 Read more…]]> Trip to the foundation of the association Global New Generation Paris/ ile de France

Day 1
January 17th

Vereinsgründung GNG Paris Ibe de France

With Sonja Prinz , Hoda Abdalah  and Eleonore Diaby (trainee)

Our flight left at 8:30pm. We met at the airport at 5pm, so we wouldn‘t miss the flight due to the long check-in. Since we were a woman with dreads, one with a headscarf (hijab) and an Afro European, it had been the case that we missed the flight because of the intense check-in prodedures. We got through all the checks relatively quickly and were good in time. We asked again exactly where our flight was going because there were two flights to Paris. When the check-in at easyjet started and we got in, the lady told us that it was the wrong flight to Paris and that the gates had been changed, so we ran to the other gate with me and my sprained foot. We got there at 8:18 pm and there were two other people standing there and the lady told us that we were not allowed to get on the plane anymore, even though it was right in front of us. It was so depressing! Everybody was arguing with the lady but she always said that the captain gave the order and she couldn’t do anything. At 8:30 pm the plane left without us. We learned that this happens often with easyjet and that once even 30 people didn’t get on the plane. We were so angry and disappointed. We wanted to complain but we only got a flyer where we could complain online. We didn’t know what to do. The only option was to buy a new ticket as there was no refund but it was too expensive. We really wanted to go to Paris, so we decided to take Flixbus even though we would arrive in Paris the next day at 2pm but it was worth it.

Day 2

January 18th

At 2:30pm we arrived in Paris and drove to Hawa‘s home. Just arrived and promptly the founding meeting of the association Global New Generation ile de France started which was our reason for coming here. This was one of the longest meetings I ever had with Celisha May and Hawa Diaby but in the end we had founded our association Global New Generation ile de France. The board of directors is as follows: Hawa Fofana president, Hoda Abdallah treasurer, Sonja Prinz secretary. The association will take care of women and children who have fled from violence. It will help them with paperwork, sanitary things and will provide the necessary psychological treatment. The meeting went on for a long time until the evening and we were all simply tired from the long bus ride.

Day 3

January 19th Sunday was our last and first full day in Paris. At 12 noon we went to Gabriel and Gabi where we had an appointment with them for dinner. Gabriel is an old journalist friend. After an eternity of travelling due to the Metro strikes, we finally arrived. It was important to connect Gabriel and Hawa. We barely started to eat when we had to go to the airport again , even though the meeting was really interesting with them. We took an Uber and made the flight back home this time.

On the road to Ghana https://ournetwork.one/archives/955 Wed, 27 Nov 2019 13:10:49 +0000 https://ournetwork.one/?p=955 Read more…]]> Our teammate Suza, from Global New Generation Berlin, has set out on the 25th of October 2019 to support GNG Ghana. The desk is exchanged for farmland and a big land for permaculture. Suza, our photographe and media design left about 27 days ago on the road to Ghana. And why she`s still not arrived, is because she decided to travel by car. Her VW Golf 4, construction year 1998. She is protected by the United Nations Association Ghana (UNA Ghana), which gives her free escort across all borders. After all, when Suza arrives, the journey continues there. She will travel all over Ghana to promote peaceful elections in Ghana in 2020.

As part of activities, the team will be visiting then:

  1. The President of The republic of Ghana.
  2. The formal President Jerry John Rawlings.
  3. The formal President John Kuffuo.
  4. Speaker of Parliament of Ghana.
  5. The Chief Justice of the Judiciary.
  6. The electoral commissioner.
  7. Interior Minister and the Security heads of Ghana.
  8. Laying of wreath at Dr. Kwame Nkrumah memorial museum.

The trip goes further through Guinee and Ivory Coast, then to Ghana. The pleasure of adventure and the desire to meet all our global friends is the motivation. Our Global New Generation Berlin (GNGBerlin) team are fully behind her, and also our partners United Nations Association Ghana (UNA Ghana) gives her their safe passage. She will meet partners and exchange ideas, expand our networks and make more friendships.

In Morocco, there was a warm welcome from the German Business Center (GBC), a tour through Morocco whit locals and many great contacts for the further journey. There were small cultural difficulties, because she didn´t know what hospitality meant in Morocco. In the North, it is normal that the guest pays, while in the south, it is an insult unless you are invited as a guest. She had to promisse that from now on she wouldn´t do this again and just accept the gift.

The German Business Center in Morocco has passed Suza to Daklar, just at the border of Mauritania. She was taken from a company and was able to obtain an overview of locals trade and markets. At the end, our learned photographer could still give something back and tanked them whit a photo shoot.

The adventure border was passed through the infinite desert, and 5 km off-road was definitely a challenge. Fortunately the VW Golf 4 made it. The journey was rewarded whit new friends in Mauritania.

It went to Senegal, where she was welcomed in various regions and hospitable families and could make further contacts.

We continue to monitor her journey ( In the name of love) and wish good luck and success dear Suza.

I `ll write to You in the next few days her journey.

You can also follow her journey via the link: Findpenguins

Much Greetings

Global New Generation football academy in Gambia https://ournetwork.one/archives/311 Thu, 30 Jun 2016 15:03:34 +0000 http://global-new-generation.com/?p=311 Read more…]]> The Concept of Global New Generation football academy in Gambia is to bring together a group of children in the ages of 6-15 years and use sports as a method to develop their personal skills and to groom them into pawners and pillars of the society. Football or soccer as it it mostly known, develops leadership skills, critical thinking, teamwork, responsibility, accountability, focus and its very fun for those playing and those watching. through mentorship and proper training, the kids stand a chance to play in divisional league. At this level they are at advantage side of attending trails in deferent big clubs and different countries in Africa, Europe, Asia and America. This stage allows them to showcase their talent and make a living from it as a profession, in the mist of all of this we will be assisting the communities and helping families and individuals.

In order for us to achieve this goals we need to create a better enveroment and football atmosphere, but we cannot achieve all of this without best football/Soccer materials which the Academy is lacking at the moment. We are calling on donations and sponsors to join hands in achieving this goals. In collaboration with the Gambia football associations
